Virginia College, established in 1983, and was founded by the Atlantis Group. The college is a private institution and the main campus is located in Birmingham, Alabama. The institution has more than 10 branch campuses. Some of the campuses are located in Huntsville, Alabama; Jackson, Mississippi; and Austin. It awards associate's and baccalaureate's degrees in a number of streams. These are administrative, management, and business, among others. In addition, few degree courses are also available here. Online courses are also offered.

Virginia College aims at maintaining an active student life. The campus is home to several clubs and organization which are based on the varied interest of the students. The college is home to a golf academy.

Students at the school often study design, office and administration, computer science and engineering, medical adminstration, and cooking and culinary arts.

The admissions department at Virginia College Birmingham does not accept all those who apply. It's not unusual for students to find their classmates include those from other parts of the country.
