Johnson & Wales University was founded in 1914. It is a private university. Its main campus is located in Providence, Rhode Island. The university also operates campuses in

* Providence, Rhode Island
* North Miami, Florida
* Denver, Colorado
* Charlotte, North Carolina

But not all Bachelor's degree programs are available at every campus location.

Johnson & Wales University offers Culinary arts as major since 1973 . From first day, students learn and develop their skills in actual kitchens and every student has the chance to gain valuable experience as part of an internship or co-op program.

Classes have an average of 18 students. Periodically, distinguished chefs from around the world will drop by the Johnson & Wales University campuses to share some of their secrets. Likewise, the university will sometimes send its own students out into the world. In fact, Johnson & Wales students were recruited to help cook for the athletes in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Greece.

Students can receive two degrees in just four years.

- The first two years are spent working towards an Associate's degree in culinary arts or baking & pastry arts.
- The next two years are spent earning a Bachelor's degree in culinary arts, baking & pastry arts, culinary nutrition, food marketing, food service entrepreneurship or food service management.

Financial aid is available to students who meet minimum requirements.

Johnson & Wales University is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools & Colleges.
